Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
The NICU at the Postgraduate Department of Pediatrics at GMC Srinagar is an accredited Level IIIA unit by the National Neonatology Forum (NNF) of India. It is housed within the Government Children Hospital, a 500-bed facility that caters exclusively to pediatric patients. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric care, including all subspecialties such as pediatric cardiology, gastroenterology, hematology, ophthalmology, surgery, and neurology.

- Out-born Unit: 125 cribs with 24 ventilators (including 2 HFOVs), 12 bubble CPAPs, and HHHFNCs.
- Inborn Unit: 50 cribs with 8 ventilators and 12 bubble CPAPs.
- High-End Equipment: Incubators, in-house echocardiography/ultrasonography machine, amplitude EEG (aEEG), Masimo-based central monitoring system, and transport ventilators.

Mode of Application
Candidates are required to submit their applications through the official online portal of GMC Srinagar. The portal will be accessible from 10th February 2025 until 18th February 2025. No offline applications will be entertained.

Selection Process

Criteria in Case of a Tie
In the event of a tie between candidates securing the same marks in the written test, the following criteria will be used to determine the final selection:
- Overall Percentage of Marks in MBBS
- Age: Older candidates will be given preference if there is still a tie after considering the MBBS marks.
Examination Details
The examination will be held on 22nd February 2025 at the Government Medical College, Srinagar campus. No changes to the exam center or date will be entertained, so candidates are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance.
